Garissa - Modogashe road cut off by the rains. This was a recently constructed road by the Chinese
Wajeer and Mandera are effectively cut off from the rest of the country. The area has seen an insane amount of rainfall alhamdulilah. Neighbouring Marsabit county is heavily flooded as well

It hasn’t rained good in 3 years in the whole of Horn of Africa expect some great rains this season. The oromo mountains rain 10x harder and they about to let all of it into the two rivers in somalia it will be a great disaster if they don’t prepare next few days and weeks.
PS: more dams should’ve been built to keep some of these rain water.

We need a lot of canals to divert the excess flood water into the drylands to allow seasonal farming there. We could expand the current farming areas by many times with simple digging
We could barely even farm the riverine we need to first focus that but you’re right we need to divert those excess water via canals and into a reservoir.
