Useless erdogan thinks he can get favours from putin by buying his weapons and in the process sabotaged his entire weapons industry and being a partner in the f35 programme.

The americans are too nice to turkey. The s400 buy is a slap to their face. Kick them out of the f35 programme, sanction their weapons industies, get out of incirlik and basically squeeze them. This is absolute disrespect

i disagree man, the patriot is rubbish comared to the s400, in every way and forma nd shape and cost

also, the Turks do not forget the coup obama tried, deep down they wanted him out, turkey has a lot of jews who fake it as atheist turks, they are jewish brought from Spain in the 1500s, they change their names and adapt, and also gaalo turks and those who hate islam, many enemies the muslims in turkey have, he needs the s400 to defend himself,

in addition, the west tries to control them by weaking their currency, sanctions, look how they can crush the currency in a matter of hours, he is freeing his people from 70 years of western influence, and he wants to stand alone,

in addtion, he is forced to buy only western weapons, every year to be part of Nato, or they will crush his economy and over throw him, he wants to be like india, playing both sides at will yet not ksising us to just one side,

euroasia is vital choke point, he trades more with russia, china, and since 1981 they EU said yuo must over come 35 ruels to enter EU, they only got so far 1 rule masterd, they want gay rights, gay marriage, in truth no one wants muslim turkey in eu, and other nations like france will veto because of Armenian genocide in 1910s

he is better off being non aligned and play games which ever side suits him rather than being a western puppet,

So much to unpack.

First things. Russian military tech when it comes air defense is laughable. The israelis trained against greek s300 in crete and know how to merk russian ari defensive weapons. It is why they are repeatedly able to bomb that war criminal assad without losing a jet in syria. Infact they destroyed a nuclear reactor back in 2007 after electronically atatcking syrian air defenses.

Patriot is trialled and tested in combat

Number two. The jews in turkey played an important role in dveelopment of the ottoman empire. did you know the first prime minister of israel was an istanbulite who wanted to fight under the banner of the ottoman empire? yeah. Even now turkish jews inspite of virulent antisemtism from erdogan are still loyal to turkey

Obama had nothing to do with the coup. The americans got blindsided like everybody. else. the turkish military has a history of throwing coups. Only this time it did not succeed. Erdogan likes to blame the west for all his troubles but in the end he lacks strategic depth.

He thinks he is fooling everyone but he is getting played by putin. Putin sees as his dog. Erdogan is so scared of putin, he is willing to buy a decrepit system, lose the most lethal 5th generation weapon for his airforce, get sanctioned economically when the economy is broken and basically become a russian satellite state.

Talk about being a beta male. The russians have always been the arch enemy of the turks. They have been merking the turks since centuries. The latest in syria when they got involved and basically propped up assad. And yet erdogan sees fit to be a lapdog towards a kgb agent.

The old turkey which fought side by side with america in the korean war is dead. we have a zombified turkey due to one man rule and turkey is going to suffer for it. The only way out of this mess is to shock turkey and erdogan into reality. ANd that will only happen with bone crushing sanctions

You can't have a strong turkey without an authoritarian ruler.

Unfortunately Erdogan cares more about power than the state of Turkey. His actions are creating more enemies fir Turkey and in turn slowly weakening it.

Btw the Patriot system is just a bit better than the S300 system while the S400 is more in line with top US systems that they don't export.

The problem with the american system is. That the Turks were waiting for a decade for the patriot, they negotiated the americans wouldn't teach the turks behind the system and a high price. If the Americans did not play this foolish game of keeping your allies waiting for a decade the turks would had purchased the patriot. But this did not happen they simply looked around and choose the russian one. It is messed up because they are in nato (designed to keep russia a ). All of this the fault of the USA. Be glad the system they are purchasing ain't Chinese
