As far as anime goes:

1) Dragon Ball Z
2) Death Note
3) Attack on Titan
4) Naruto (up until the pain fight - haven't watched much after that cause it sucked)

You get through the source material faster if you read the manga; anime can be tedious at times with the filler episodes and pacing.

As for your taste, it's decent. Anime is supposed to keep you entertained anyways.

The original Dragon Ball was the best. When I was a kid I couldn't afford the manga, so I just watched the Anime. Akiro Toriyama was a genius and Masako Nozawa's voice acting is the stuff of legends. I could only watch it in the original Japanese subbed. No dub for me.
I still remember Piccolo Daimaio as the main villain of the show. It's been too long. I can't bring myself to watch the new Dragon Ball Super/Z. It doesn't have the same taste.
