Does when you sleep matter ?

I’m a night owl and I’ve been sleeping at like 5 am and waking up at 1 pm for a long time now. I’ve been sleeping at midnight lately and I feel more energized now. I read that if you sleep later in the night you don’t get enough nrem sleep and that means you don’t get enough deep sleep apparently. Anyone know anything about this ?

Yeah. The circadian rhythm is fixed and shift workers generally have poor biomarkers. Watch the sleep guy who went on the Joe Rogan pod

The night owl/choronotype thing is generally bollocks for the avg person. I fell into the "night owl" camp until I developed proper sleep hygiene sorted my circadian rhythm out.

Sleeping late is bad if you sleep early you got more time to be productive

Turn on auto night-mode on your phone and try to either slowly shift your bedtime upward over-time like 4 AM one night, 3 AM the next until you're at about 10-12. Or try your best to stay up all day one day and just fall asleep around those times to sort of reset. Don't wake up any later than 9 or sleep any later than 12 unless there's a good reason. Your body will thank you.

I sleep as I think.
Some nights are long. I don't care about my health, to be honest.

I used to sleep late asf. But I changed now I sleep 10/11. I'm so energetic, healthy, stress free in the morning its amazing. Wallahi I'd advise you to never sleep at 5 again. Sleeping early will give you more time to be productive I'm the morning. My concentration, energy, mental health all improved when I improved my sleeping routine

Sleeping at the right time is important, have you ever been tired around 9 pm then had a surge of energy around 10:30 pm and then cannot fall asleep? It means your stress hormones have kicked in increasing adrenaline and cortisol - which shortens mitochondria cell activity and telomeres therefore making you age, avoid this at all costs.

Humans weren't made to thrive at night, our eyesight is poor, we're physically weak and that's when predators such as big cats are roaming about. Humans are programmed to sleep at night cause it offers us advantages at daytime (great vision, long distance running and fight/flight response), this is why we get tired as night approaches; it’s our body’s way of trying to protect us.
