That is a very good point.The issue is he wants to deny Reer Gedo to elect their member of parliaments because he thinks they will vote for the incumbent president. That is what is their anger. Whether he is a unionist or believes in secession is irrelevant. He's chosen to take in the election by denying a whole region to elect their parliamentarians.
Folks in Somalia remind me a lot of the elderly people who to this day fall for the "Nigerian Prince" type scams in the west. The scam that runaway ex-SL politicians play on them is so obvious, yet they fall for it time after time. They just desperately want to believe that these scammers are genuinely interested in representing SL interest, when down inside they know they are just there to take their money.

That's a terrible oversimplification. That is like saying all politicians are corrupt. Though there is an essence of truth in that, the degrees of corruption differ vastly. There is a huge gulf in the level of corruption between American and British politicians, for example.
