That's just time. I think Somaliland has been moving at the same pace since the 80's. It's individual businesses who are contributing the economy but the government hasn't made enough moves. The potential is massive for a vast number of industries.
You see it that way because maybe you haven't lived in SL. Nor do you understand what state the country was post siyaad barre. I was there from the beggining, and seen the changes from east to west with my own eyes.
Since the last presidential election alone(2010-current)
-Free Education dugsiga hoose and dhexe
-tripled army and civil servants salaries
-Reconstructed several roads connecting boorame and gabiley
-Somaliland nation tele station went international & Radio station nationwide
-Reconstruction of the main roads between burco and hargeysa
last 2 years
-Airport upgrades(Berbera & Hargeysa) Also burco & Lascaanod
-300Km+ road from burco to ceerigaabo (20km left)
- Investment attraction of oil companies and Completion of aerial surveys for oil and gas in southern sanaag(companies supposed to return very soon)
- Corridor from Berbera to ethiopa which will bring in 300mil +, also nearly finalizing bollore or dp contract for the port expansion
Much more has been completed as well which I cannot recall. Like I said, SL is headed in the right direction, and the people love their land so I believe things will always be good there
