It is, its a Saudi custom and pushed upon Muslim countries who could not fight back against the spread of Wahabism

All of these Arab customs need to go. We've had our own Islamic culture and traditions for centuries and we should return to that. There needs to be a strong effort for revival of our culture and traditions pre-civil war once Al-Shabab is purged.

Nah turks are different when it comes to people dressed like religious Arabs. We aint going that far but we should still push for and encourage our traditional clothing. It will also revive our traditional Somali identity.

Yea wait for somalia to proper develop and you'll see it become more lenient hijab will probs stay compulsory for a long while but it'll become more lax

As long as we have the freedom to dress like our great grandparents and the generations before them used to dress, that would be a good start and then it will continue to normalize from there.

I havent but if Hargeisa started the process then that's good news. Hopefully it continues to spread and become normalized again.
