Yes the 31 years your referring to is after we self declared our independence from Somalia. It's actually now 33 years from 1991. Nothing got to do with july 1st 1960 when the British Somali territory that is somaliland untied with the Italy somali territory. The estimates on the northern massacres are from 50k to 250k which is a huge range. Where di did you pull up the 500k number?
The entire civil war death toll in Somalia after 1990 is around 500k which mostly happened in the 90s . Is that a genocide as well?

This is exactly what I was referring on eradicating or changing the narrative of the actual history. Your cherry picking the history events to your liking, lets be honest your probably misinformed, young or ignoranate. The governments and the whole qabalisit system allowed the war to happen.

Some of the history events was cruel. Isaaq was orderd to be captured put blindfoleded in Lido beach and executed by the army. My uncle was one of the executed on that faithful day. My aunties told me the story of how he escaped by hiding in a house, the households informed the askar only to get captured. People were involved and any isaaq in Mogadishu was chased and executed.

It was the whole somalis against isaaq, the only exception is reer Djibouti who were not involved in the war. Other clans that got massacred was during the collapse of Somalia in 1991, it's mainly Darood vs Hawiye. A very different event to the one that was used heavy and brutel weapons against isaaq. Hargeisa, Berbera and Burco was distorted from the air and the grounds. The plan was to destroy and break the whole isaaq a genocide attempt.

How are these two history events similar in any shape or form? While I also want to say the collapse of Somalia was painful and many lives was lost but don't compare the two as same and equal history events.
