do you struggle to dress modestly?

Do you find it difficult, as a Muslim girl/woman, to dress modestly?

I try to but I don’t like it. Every day I hate it. I dress the way I like, like what I see, feel bad then change into the unattractive look.

I always think one day I’ll be old and my body will look gross so I’ll dress modestly then, why should I hide my body now while I’m young?

I’m a Muslim and do believe and try to follow the religion but really hate the way I’m supposed to dress. Can’t even wear a pair of nice jeans without feeling bad. I’ll hear from relatives “don’t dress like that, we are Muslims” (in a nice way) so it makes me feel bad every time. I’ve been hearing things like this for years btw

I’m an adult now but still struggle with it. I want to wear over the shoulder tops, jeans, heels, and have my hair out and look good, like a normal person But then I think “I’m a Muslim...”

Does anyone know what I’m saying? I hope I make sense

modesty in a woman is beautiful, i've seen very beautiful modest female attire that follows the guideline of the deen (my favorite is the jilbaab), remember abaayo this life is temporary, following the deen will immensely benefit us in the akhira, i wish you the best

Yes sis what you said makes a lot of sense and I agree with you.

Let me be honest with you, yes I used to find it hard before when I started wearing the headscarf full time. I felt I wasn't myself but alhamdullillah Allah swt made it easier for me. In recent years most designers have transitioned into making their clothes modest, I don't find it hard anymore.

I know the feeling sis. I feel terrible every time I get gas for the car wearing nothing but a macawiis (not even underwear). I want to feel closer to my ancestors but it feels so wrong.

That’s sweet, I’m glad it became easier for you sis :it0tdo8: alhamdulillah. Maybe I should look at some modest fashion videos or something, I’ve noticed it lately

This is nice but looks over the top too. They don’t look like your every day wear

I think it’s mainly the skirt/dress/abaya part I dislike. I feel they’d all look better in jeans

This girl looks great in my opinion

Guys are lucky...

I recently wore something and a friend had to point out “it’s too tight”. Makes me feel like a bad muslim idk

It sucks to always hear “the prophet said”, “the Quran says”... makes you feel like ur always doing something wrong

tbh most Muslim guys don't follow the rules lol. Men are not allowed to wear clothes that show their lower legs so shorts are automatically haram (even tho nobody seems to care).

Uhm... I’ve never heard of this :9uoofqd:

Is it not navel to knee covered? I thought shorts are allowed for men
No, they are absolutely Haram. And clothes that are see threw (white t-shirts) are also haram for men.

I personally never wear shorts/any t-shirt in public for these reasons, got my friend to also stop wearing shorts. Inshallah, more Muslim men/boys will stop soon in the near future not even realizing they are committing a sin equivalent to a woman not wearing a hijab.

I kind of relate but for me it’s not wanting to wear a jilbab but feeling like it’s the only thing I can feel fully modest in sometimes . like when I’m out in public and suddenly I wonder if my skirt is too tight , or I have to keep adjusting my hijab. And I start feeling “exposed”. It mostly happens to me when I am more anxious though, not so much other times

Nonsense, show them ankles . Why are we still justifying the words of 4th century cave man.
That from of dress is made to punish the women. Just think about it , the men wear flowing white gowns made from silk or light cotton. The women wear black sunlight absorbing gowns , they are not allowed to be not even free but just an individual. Face covered up, no distinction between women. These people been hate women for ages.
