California started to really go down hill in 1999 when that bafoon gray Davis got elected and instantly kicked of an energy crisis I remember for days at a time there was no electricity and then the dot com bubble burst right after that. The manufacturing industry due to outsourcing was decimated and low skilled workers started moving elsewhere

2008 financial crisis hit and it took years for most places in California to recover and job growth was extremely slow and now after Covid the long exodus of middle class residents people had been predicting for years began


Only thing the incompetent clowns in the legislature can brag about is GDP meanwhile the poverty rate and homeless rate is the highest in the nation and don’t even get me started on the zoning laws and absurdly expensive housing market
