Habeshi all the time, especially when your name is a anglicised version of a prophet's name.

I'm your average somali, a bit on the lighter side, lakiin when i used to live in london, people identified me as ''

we are all the same to the untrained eye:mjcry:

I look Somali as f*ck, so nobody ever mistakes me for something else here in Toronto. But one time when I was in the US, this Latino lady came up to me and started speaking to me en Español.:russ:

When Habeshas run up to you speaking their language and you just nod your head since you don't know what the f*ck they said :mjcry:

Cadaan people ask if I'm Indian at work :icon rolleyes:

I've also gotten xabashi & sudani from ajunaabis in the past, most Somalis just speak the language to me without question though.

I don't know how Somalis could be mistaken for Indians. I've only seen Eritrean or Ethiopian people that look Indian, but never Somali or Sudani

Like Cadaan people even know Somaliland exists...

lol you'd be surprised wallahi. Once, I remember discussing British Somaliland with an older cadaan at work, who was highly informed about the situation and history of the region. :mjswag:

Some Indian guy messaged me on G and asked if I was Indian. It's the only time it's happened.

I'm pretty sure it was because of the picture I took.

Isn't London majority non-White...? Why would they refer to you as the n-word if it's one of the most multiracial cities?? Or are you just kidding to make a point...? :notsureif:

Edit: or was it a non-black poc who said it?
