Djins are called Genies in Cadaan terms.
In folklore, a ghost (sometimes known as an apparition, haunt, phantom, poltergeist, shade, specter or spectre, spirit, spook, and wraith) is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear to the living.
A dead person is in bazarkh they have no means or ways of coming into our world, what these "ghosts" are are qareen (jinn) shapeshifting into human form.

What you saw how did it look like ?
Well idk if you would believe me since you believe in the hadith but, there were rumours about a girl committing suicide because she got so much stressed by school and her life was generally really sad. i actually was curious and visited that place and it stank horribly, and it felt haunted on top of that too. I saw Smt black in my corner since it looked like it was watching me from afar. I can confirm that it was totally black.
I ended up believing everything about ghosts and spirits. Especially if a human being dies of sadness or regrets. their souls are believed to wander through the physical (Our world) and spiritual world (Where all the souls and spirits are taking to) till the end of times.

Jinns can't be seen in their true physical form but when they shapeshift into a human or snake they can be seen in that form they shifted to.

Its not the soul, the soul is in the barzakh either being punished for sins in the dunya or is its grave is a garden of paradise.
