My dad always says “tribalism is for poor people. I’m not poor.” This man changes his phone number every few months so i definitely believe him lol.

To answer your question. My tribe = my close and extended relatives,my close friends, and 💵 .

That said, for a society, some level of nationalism (which is basically tribalism 2.0) is necessary. But only if you’ve got competent elites. Otherwise that also will back fire.

This is an online forum, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there will be times where we wont always agree on something but that’s completely normal.

And i also understand why you would be skeptical against a central government since your people have suffered from such governance in the past and that skepticism is completely justified.

Im also against a strong central government because if it falls in the wrong hands then it will just be a repeat of what happened in the past and we all know the consequences.

Thats why a form of decentralised centralism where each region can govern themselves locally whilst being allocated equal resources is the best way to move on. The army would be equally represented from everyone from each region and all public services such as healthcare or education would be shared equally.

Only difference would be that all foreign affairs would be dealt with the central government so foreign countries wont be able to interfere and make deals with one region over the other which can cause internal division.

So basically if another civil war was to happen (god forbid), every state would have the power to defend themselves which would make it pointless to start a war in the first place and specific groups wont be targeted for example.

I hope you understand where i am coming from.
Yeah walaalo I'm glad we can have an amicable conversation despite the differences we have. I do wish well for Somalia and for Somalis in general.

I do hope for reconciliation between us in the future. I'm not opposed to reunification but only if it's fair and just.

There would obviously need to be written into the agreement that if anything like the 80s happened again, we have an exit point to independence . I hope it doesn't come to that though.

There's this notion we as Landers are Somali Diid. When we're the ones who gave up our independence to join Somalia. In the dream scenario I'd love to share a country with my fellow Somalis.

All the points you just made were valid. Reconciliation is key if we want to untite since everyone has their own perspective of the civil war and would usually blindly support a war criminal because they are from the same qabiil as them, but can you blame them when everyone else is doing the same?

I hope one day we can all forgive each other and move on in the future because if we are united no one can stop us.

Inshallah one day we will share a country, brother.
