I think there's a clear distinction between Somalinimo and Somaliweyn. Every Somali is all for Somalinimo. I wish what's best for my fellow brethens regardless where they hail from.

I just don't share the Somaliweyn dream where Djbouti all the way down to NFD and everything in between needs to be ruled by Mogadishu.

Centralism like the kacaan would never work for Somalia but rather a decentralised centralism governance where each regions are given a chance to build their own tuulos and are given resources evenly by the central government.

However, all foreign affairs and broader strategic issues would be given to the central government and the national army should include everyone from each regions to reduce division.

This would only work if there are honest people in the government where people are chosen based on merit and not qabiil like the corrupt FGS of today

A decentralised centralised government is kinda like a quasi federalist government which is basically what's Somalia is today.

But I do agree on the premise that there needs to be an overhaul in the corrupt FGS for anything to truly progress. Regardless of the future pans out, we're all Somalis and Somalinimo will never go away.

True, but the the FGS is incompetent. It doesn’t allocate resources to the other FMS causing the other federal states to make deals with foreign countries which further divides us.

If we had a strong central government that was just and fair, then an actual decentralised centralism government that I proposed earlier could be a possibility. Everyone eats, everyone is fairly represented and everyone reaps the rewards of being united.

I wouldnt even call this dysfunction we are seeing currently federalism, each state is basically their own country right now with their own foreign allies, own army and own public services which the central government should have provided via resources.

There'll be things we agree and there'll be things we disagree. I hope you can at least appreciate that I'm trying to be understanding of your pov walaalo :samwelcome:

This is an online forum, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there will be times where we wont always agree on something but that’s completely normal.

And i also understand why you would be skeptical against a central government since your people have suffered from such governance in the past and that skepticism is completely justified.

Im also against a strong central government because if it falls in the wrong hands then it will just be a repeat of what happened in the past and we all know the consequences.

Thats why a form of decentralised centralism where each region can govern themselves locally whilst being allocated equal resources is the best way to move on. The army would be equally represented from everyone from each region and all public services such as healthcare or education would be shared equally.

Only difference would be that all foreign affairs would be dealt with the central government so foreign countries wont be able to interfere and make deals with one region over the other which can cause internal division.

So basically if another civil war was to happen (god forbid), every state would have the power to defend themselves which would make it pointless to start a war in the first place and specific groups wont be targeted for example.

I hope you understand where i am coming from.
