while I’ve came across a trending page; that discusses about Somali languages being Permissible; to the people of Puntlands.

I was wondering if there’s any possibility or hope for this Horner Race. I see we’re trying to set our own ways.

I know historically Siad Barre wanted a Somali unity or The greater of Somalia for the Geeljires.

but now we’re trying to move on. I do find it interesting to hear your views. I don’t want any derail or trolls; I want honest views and honest answer from my own.
To the core. Beside we Somalis were literally united in that we all should be in one country. Every region had fought for that, from now dreamlanders to other wooqoyi galbeed unionist, all the way to nfd. There are still unionist in SL WS and nfd. We could make it happened, even SL wanted to negotiate with the south but made up their mind because some mooryaans got out of the hand in konfuur. If chaos didn’t happen down there we would have seen more sense of somaliweyn than now.

Somalias borders will stay unchanged for the foreseeable future.

The only change will be if Ethiopia collapses and DDS by some miracle joins Somalia.

SL will never seceede and NFD and Djibouti will never join. Ogaden is like a 5% chance.

No mate, Somali political unity and Somalinimo are completely separate. Djiboutians and Somalilanders are by default against Somali Political-Ethno Unity and are proud of maintaining their Sovereignty. Does that mean they are anti somali or against somalinimo, of course not.
Don’t avoid my question, I want answers. you punk.

the whole world would be mini states going by your logic

Yes mainly in africa as they were affected by colonialsim
Somaliweynist must move on .most of Kenyan somalis and djibiouti somalis dont want this unity and are happy in their respective countries heck even the northerners dont want to be part of a unity .
To think about a "Somali unity" when your house is a mess caqli lix sac way of thinking .

why are you delaying the response?

I’ve read your understandable point of view... but it seems to me you made some form of contradiction.

re-read what I’ve said to your responses.
Itā€˜s political we can both agree on that.

but I want you to answer this controversial question:

When Somalis kill each other for the sake of ā€œClanā€, and try to differentiate against each other; who are they fighting for?

If they try to differentiate against each other; does it contradicts their somalinimo? Aren’t we all the same? don’t we speak the same language? practice the same culture?

I don’t mind clans going their own way, I’m just interested.

well said.

Somalinimo is just the feeling of kinship between Somalis. That will never die out. However the notion that Somalis will ever unite under one flag is nothing but a pipe dream.

Yes, I think your average Somali also believes it, but we all know it's impossible.
as the saying goes, It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the barrel.

People here are confusing what issues were facing Somalis in the past and those in the present.
Historically, Somalis identified with their Clan but there was always the idea that ā€˜we’re Somali people’. If they did unite, it was to face a common threat like the Ethiopians or early colonialism (Portugal etc).

By the 19th century, nationalism created Nations like Italy and Japan. Somalia is different from other sub Saharan African countries because it’s the only ethnostate that can undergo a similar process . (See IM Lewis)

If any person actually believes that PL, SL, JL, SSW, GM, HS, Banadir, NFD, Ogaden, and the French Dependency of Djibouti can actually function alone without foreign intervention and Kenyan-Ethio puppetry isn’t connected with the real world.

The Idea of divide and conquer was utilised heavily by 19th century Colonialist and this ultimately created Somali Nationalism as a response. No longer do the times of Sultanates and Clan affiliation exist because they can easily be weakened when exploited by foreigners, who will use this simple technique for their own benefits.

Unfortunately, therefore lack of any wisdom
I dont blame the colonials , but stated the fact on which ppl came up with somali unity . If colonials havent colonized somalia we would've been mini states .
That’s preposterous the sense of Somali unity goes back centuries before the arrival of the colonial Italians and british we had empires and yes these empires were known to have rich coastal cities defeated the portugese and colonialism happened all across the world but ended in the 1960s/1970s when they were granted independence
