Do you ask the person's qabiil when you are getting to know someone romantically?

I don’t see it as a big deal wallahi

I’ve asked many guys their qabiil before and only when the conversation is relevant. Not randomly. This is where I test their maturity. Those that nag are weirdos that confuse qabil=negative tribalism, I just cut it from there. Those that go with the flow are the best.

I mean it tells me a lot of the person. These days I feel like it’s a requirement for me to know the mans clan just as important as where he is located in the world.

It tells me about his political views, way they have been brought up and perhaps even lifestyle?
Isnt that whats called making assumptions?

Yeah I guess it is assumptions but it’s usually 80% accurate :manny: ask a darood do you support Somaliland most likely no. Ask an isaaq do you want unity, most like no. Ask a hawiye on somaliweyn, they’ll say yeah.

If any of those situations I’ve mentioned are not the case they’re a small minority

You get my point I don’t want to derail this thread too much

Why should it matter a women’s qabil is automatically her husbands qabil.

I guess it depends on the person.

My Aunty is arab salex but her husband is reer dalal MX so she’s always at MX weddings and contributes into their affairs.

Then you’ve got my mother who doesn’t give 2 shits about my dads clan lol.

You are a very nice lady Insha Allah you marry a MRX man and give birth to 20 men

I am a southerner and was raised with qabiil not qabyaalad. Maybe it depends on clans and who they beef.

I don't think I was really raised with qabil. I mean I know my abtirsi but we rarely talk about qabil. My parents could be a bit qabilist at times but they don't hate people based on qabil.

I dont know what type of people you date or maybe its all about the tone you use when you ask. My last 3 dates I asked in first date, in fact one of them the girl asked first. Asking someones tribe is not like asking about their sexual past.......and lool at this sneaky cowardly way of saying so where in somalia is your parents from or where does your family live. Just be upfront. I had a friend set me up with a girl and she researched me before my date and said oh btw I know even your sub tribe as I asked around
It wasn't serious dating. What you are talking about is dating with marriage as a clear end goal right?
