Um not really but I haven't been serious with anyone. I didn't even know any of my close friends until his year when someone else asked and I heard them.

No shaming in asking anyones qabil that you are friends with. Its only wierd upon meeting someone, but I ask friends their qabils all the time and vice versa. Qabil is just your lineage not some ceeb thing to hide

It's ceeb if you are just getting to know each other.

Either way you will find out their qabil once things get more serious.

As for asking about what region they hail from, its obvious that you are asking for their qabil indirectly. So just ask directly.

I dont know what type of people you date or maybe its all about the tone you use when you ask. My last 3 dates I asked in first date, in fact one of them the girl asked first. Asking someones tribe is not like asking about their sexual past.......and lool at this sneaky cowardly way of saying so where in somalia is your parents from or where does your family live. Just be upfront. I had a friend set me up with a girl and she researched me before my date and said oh btw I know even your sub tribe as I asked around

SOMALIKNIGHT

It's because most Southern people are not raised to be qabilists and hate others based on clans like you people. In the real world, qabil is not important to anyone besides you qabil-obsessive, immature losers.

Actually qabiil is more important in the south than other areas but they don't use it in a discriminatory manner. But koonfur people in the diaspora shy away from qabiil entirely for some reason.

Qabiil is important. It's your identity. You use it for good. Any use of it in a negative way is prohibited.

She was a confident one :leon: i'd do the research but I wouldn't upfront say it like that I wouldve just asked the question and let him answer but she's a straight shooter good for her

Asking about areas dont always work. One guy I met asked me where my parents are from after telling him he mentioned if I was so so qabil he guessed wrong he continued to keep guessing till he got it right

its the people who say its not important that are making it important by saying ooh you cant ask that or thats rude. If someone ask you where in somalia does your relatives live...you not gonna say thats private. Qabil is a minor thing that should be talked about in the open. Hell even if a stranger in the street ask me I tell him Idont give fvck. I never understood people who make big deal of this shit. Im not proud or ashamed of being mj....I just happen to be one. Its not like sh1t I choose that I only tell people some people

I agree, as long as your not using it in a negative way I dont see the problem in bringing it up! Its just basic info nothing to be ashamed about

Ever thought that some people avoid mentioning qabil because it divided and ruined Somalia?

Whoa where did this unwarranted hostility come from ?
You are only a high schooler, have some respect for your elders.

Btw I’m Reer Konfuur as well :manny:

I don’t see it as a big deal wallahi

I’ve asked many guys their qabiil before and only when the conversation is relevant. Not randomly. This is where I test their maturity. Those that nag are weirdos that confuse qabil=negative tribalism, I just cut it from there. Those that go with the flow are the best.

I mean it tells me a lot of the person. These days I feel like it’s a requirement for me to know the mans clan just as important as where he is located in the world.

It tells me about his political views, way they have been brought up and perhaps even lifestyle?

I am a southerner and was raised with qabiil not qabyaalad. Maybe it depends on clans and who they beef.
