With how sellouts in Egypt, Sudan (after Mahdist) and the Horns of Africa allowed England, France and Italy in the late 19th century so easily when the Ottoman Empire withdrew from the region to protect their backyard from the encroaching European powers and dealing with internal unrest, I am very certain that had it not being for them, Europe would have invaded long time ago especially when you consider that certain ethnic groups are easily exploitable via bribery and the fact that they fought against their own who wanted Europe out.

It only became prevalent after the 90s for obvious reasons.. Colonization didn't have any effect on us as you can see, all the Horners remained the same.

Guess it was too late for them to forcibly assimilate us like they did to others years prior because of the world wars, nationalism, UN and USA etc.

HOA societies already had robust social institutions before the arrival of Europeans, namely Islam and Ethiopian orthodoxy. Same goes for the rest of the world except for cawaan africans and other naked tribals. It’s harder to imprint societies that already have well established legal codes and belief systems.
