Somalis have ruined it for Somalis back home who want a better life. Thanks to our previous lawless state of living lawlessly, most Somalis are not ashamed of having a criminal in their family nor are they active about stopping them.

Most non-Western immigrants who also are refugees do poorly. It's not just Somalis. It's a combination of PTSD, poor education, poor living standards, distrust of authorities, tribalism, traditional cultural values (such as wives being expected to not work). So a combination of socioeconomic factors, war trauma and cultural issues inherent in Somali culture.

Most Somalis have been in the West for only 1 or 2 decades. Compared to other refugees, Somalis also come from a country in which the civil society and all essential institutions of a functioning society has disintegrated. When you come from such a place, it's going to take time before you adapt to a functioning civil society.

We're now only seeing the first generation and some of the second generation doing poorly. It's only if the third and fourth generation of Somali immigrants also continue this pattern of behaviour that we're really in trouble.

am not denying there r problems,probably like every otha immigrant group,some doin better than others depending on their circumstances,numbers,background,period of their stay etc.
Somalis r doing great in Africa and the Mideast and even many of thm in Somalia .they doin very fine in America,,so this should be a European problem. I have atleast 60 close family members in Europe(families and offsprings). and I would say 80% of those graduated and doin good,the other 20% with exception of 4 people are struggling and decent.and those 4 live off the govt.
