My grandmother and sis went on a journey there. Grandma nearly got tripped over by a Russian couple. Sis caught her to prevent the old lady from falling down. Afterwards sis reminded the couple how careless they were and those two just shrugged it off and told her to head back to Kazakhstan (big eyes + straight nose + Asian features = central Asian )

However it’s highly likely they would treat bulky males a lot better than an old lady and some teenage girl. So you’re probably in luck if you fit into the category of “tough guys”. After all, Russian culture is substantially influenced by the Mongols.
