Do Eritreans speak Arabic?

Every Eritrean I met in my city or most of them speak arabic. Most Eritreans here are also muslim. I asked some Eritreans why all of them or most of them speak arabic and they said it's because many Eritreans go through Sudan while immigrating and learn arabic there.

Sudan and Eritrea also border each other so that might influence it also. I hear Isaias also mention Sudan, @Shimbiris translate please.

It's a fact Granted all the eritreans i know are muslim so that might have something to do with it. But other than english the only language they know is arabic.

Quite a lot of Eritreans speak Arabic. You have the Rashaida (straight up Hejaz Arabs who migrated in the 19th Century) for whom it is their first language as well as the Tigre and Beja folk who use it heavily alongside their mother tongues as a lingua franca. A lot of Tigrinya folk will also speak Arabic - normally those who are Muslim or do intl business/lived in Sudan. My father grew up in Kassala and worked in Saudia so he speaks Arabic as did his father before him (who also worked in Saudia). He taught me Arabic along with Tigrinya. Since I'm Christian and I don't live amongst many Arabs I use it very sparingly but it's pretty easy to maintain since it's not that different from Tigrinya
