Djibouti hosts military bases belonging to Germany, Spain, Italy, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Saudi Arabia at a very little distance from one another. Russia and India too have strong interests in setting up military bases there.
I feel you but it breaks my heart that French is still used in Jabuuti and that the country is still so involved with nimanka Faransiis. Waa gumeysi.
Somalia should promote French language schools.
Not a government school level but we should allow for one bilingual French/English language school in each city. This will produce graduates that are competitive internationally.
French is still the language of diplomacy and still dictates business discussions in Africa and Europe. Even Australia has a policy of having a small French speaking population.
Somalia should aggressively promote Arabic and English on the populace (alongside Somali ofc) while making sure a small portion of our population learn languages like French and Swahili.
Wait You BuutiYou talk like you come from Dubai....
Calm down farax Djibouti is doing their thing unlike your people who are the only country who relies on bantu soldiers

No. I'm fully fluent in french and i'm against that.
The grip that France has in Africa is insane and out of all African countries, francophone countries are amongst the worst due to French interference. Kagame removing French as an official language is one of hte most beautiful things i've seen in recent times and I hope all African nations follow suit.
I'd rather see Mandarin or even Hindi being taught in Somalia than French. They're cancerous.
I'm all for anyone learning as many languages as possible regardless of politics, but having government funding and promoting the French language, that i'm completely against.
I speak French as well and I hate it’s dominance in Africa 100%. Anyone that can speak French knows how fucked their imperialism in Africa is.
Rwanda may have gotten rid of French but the population still use it day to day, similar to how South Sudan officially got rid of Arabic, the populace still uses these languages overwhelmingly.
Somalia should aggressively promote Arabic and English on the populace (alongside Somali ofc) while making sure a small portion of our population learn languages like French and Swahili.
Is it really any worse than if it was replaced by English?
I think the cultural and political values of France are better for Africa than the values of the United States (English is de facto in control of the USA).
France is mostly a social democratic country while the USA is a hyper capitalistic egocentric nation, even under Democrats. The French support a strong state, Americans support a weak state. French cultural aesthetics are also better than American ones.
In Europe, people are becoming lazy and nowadays mostly either only know their national language + English or just only their national language. For example, people in Eastern Europe used to know German and Russian, nowadays they only know their Slavic language (Polish for example) and English.
It is becoming rarer to see mainland Europeans who speak multiple languages. If Somalia ever develops the same thing might happen, people only going for Somali & English.
In order to combat this, I would implement something very controversial.
I would mandate that school would be in English and Arabic and legislate that dugsi be solely taught in Somali.
Somalis need to be able to speak Somali, Arabic and English. They will speak Somali regardless of government intervention but the other two will be neglected if our government doesn’t have a strict education regime.
Yeah, I agree with this policy. But I would make the #4th option for bright students to be not as restrictive and give them the option to choose between:
Mandarin
Turkish
Amharic
Swahili
Persian
Hindi (although if the Hindu Nationalist stuff goes too extreme in India in the future I would reverse this)
I wouldn't allow French despite me just praising their culture relative to the USA, lol
Tbh, I don’t mind having classes for these languages but from that list, I personally only see Turkish and Swahili as the only useful languages for someone in Somalia.
Purely because the amount of business Turkey has in Somalia and their readily available scholarships whereas Swahili is spoken in numerous countries and is therefore also useful.
I'm Djibouti every ThursdayWait You Buuti

The French practically treat Francophone Africa as their colonies and it reminds me of the hunger games.
Metropolitan France (Mainland France) is the Capitol and each Francophone African country is a district that sends their best to France each year never to be seen again.
These pseudo-colonies get oppressed by France year in year with their finances held in Paris, their dictators paid off by Paris and their economy dominated from Paris.
Even Egypt that has been out France’s clutches over almost three centuries hasn’t fully rid themselves of their neocolonialism.
Hindi is useless as majority speak English, same with the Swahili speakers.Chinese,Turks,Ethios and Persians in their homelands don't speak EnglishYeah, I agree with this policy.
