To they see themselves as Somalis or part of Somali culture? The one I’ve met who is Yemeni Shia and saw himself as dijboutian Somali . I’ve tried to explain to him but he thinks Somali is cultural Just like Arab 😂kinda gave up since I don’t want to xaasid to him

They identified as Yemeni, as they were.

In Somalia it kinda is. The minorities are considered Somalis.

There’s Somali ethnic (father is Somali) and Somali cultural (speak Somali) and they’re different.

Doesn't really matter since Yemeni culture is near identical to ours so they are well integrated it's just the afars that are a nuisance but they are getting integrated.
