Okay , I'm not trying to be pessimistic or anything , but isn't Djibouti below the poverty line , the inhabitants already suffering and risking their lives abroad , when the entire country generates revenues from military bases which can somehow alleviate the dire situation and sustain its citizens , yet that fat check goes in the pocket.
hmmmm , this Skyscraper project is actually quite relatable to the ordeal of what ordinary people in Jakarta , Indonesia are going through at the moment , 1/3 of that city is sinking , due to soil erosion and misused water pipes, a city that is above sea level and yet water seeps through their buildings instead their corrupt government plans to build an Eagle Island worth 100 billion dollars , if they were to use the public investment necessary , then with that amount of expenditure, they can build a sea barrier , water systems , flood prevention and prevent this , it would be effective
but hey , corrupt governments are always like this instead of solving problems they look the other way and create more hysterias.
Djibouti fits in that category.
There are several factors they need to address , they have poor healthcare, inaccessible infrastructures, the education ministry is ineffective, corruption is strife , counter measures are not effective , there is a widespread hunger problems , substance addiction and malnutrition.
If it does happen , remember half of that city is segregated , gentrified barbwired neighborhoods and slums , which means this will only attract foreigners the benefits will go to that obese man in power lol
