Djibouti is a sovereign nation, with one stroke of the pen they can do what they want like Somaliland did.
Let them stroke the pen and the United States will snap its fingers and topple the government there
That’s nonsense it’s the talking points of people that are anti SL but pro Djibouti. Djibouti joining Somalia has no bearing on the US as they already have a base outside Mogadishu in balidoogle. With one stroke of a pen they can join Somalia or even Ethiopia if they want.
This oil route is why Djibouti continues to exist as an independent country. One big naval base for all the world's major powers. To patrol and police the critical oil shipping lane and suez canal in general. It will never be handed off to another country.
Bro do you know what sovereign is? Djibouti is a country because they gained independence from France. They’re protected by the United Nations similar to small weak countries like Qatar and Kuwait. If they want they can join whoever they like.
They cannot, Djibouti is a puppet state - not a real nation. Why do you think France rigged it's referendum in 1958 and 1967 so that it would keep it in the French sphere and then stopped union with Somalia???

It’s similar to the arguments made that although Somaliland gained its independence on the 26th of June it was never a country which is also something that doesn’t make sense since Adan Abdulla Cismaans constitution states SL was a country. It’s disengenous discourse.
Keep dismissing it but that's reality, the Galbeed can leave Ethiopia legally in their constitution but that hasn't happened because Ethiopia won't allow a referendum to take place. Djibouti is a fake country but it exists as a strategic naval base to monitor the Suez and oil route. Barring some extraordinary circumstances NO WORLD POWER will give that critical territory to Mogadishu let alone Hargeisa.

pro world powers are not there in djibouti by force. they pay hefti fees to be there but djibouti joining somalia is close to impossible. no leaders will want to be ruled by other leaders.
They pay fees obviously, because that's how the government of Djibouti functions.
