Magnifique! :nvjpqts::nvjpqts::nvjpqts:
Enfin, après tellement d'années que j'attendais une usine de désalinisation.

I wish Somalia could do this wallahi we could produce a bunch of fresh water and re-greenify our land. Its a shame we don't utilize the longest coast in Africa to help with our agricultural needs and preventing the desertification process that is happening in Somalia

There's one in xamar but a lot more are needed

Hundreds are needed sxhb we could probably even export water to other African countries and make some revenue off this or maybe my Idea sounds dumb. Ignore this comment just speaking out of curiosity.

Instead of hundreds, probably better to put the money together to build bigger desalination plants and have more water tankers to deliver the water.

Bad roads and bad relationships between certain tribes might put an end to that kind of idea tho.

Exactly, infrastructre is so important. It would be much more effective to build one big desalination plant and later transport the water to different locations. Thats why we should put the most effort into building our roads.

Energy costs is the main reason we don't use it for agriculture.

Today it takes 4 kW per cubic meter of water or more than a $1,500 per hectare...

Wheat brings in $750≈ in revenue per hectare (5 ton yield).

This is a wind powered desalination plant.

:lawd:

The seawater desalination plant was inaugurated on March 14th, 2021 by Djibouti’s president, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. The plant was built in Doraleh by Eiffage génie civil, a subsidiary of the French group Eiffage, in partnership with Tedagua, a company specialising in water treatment and a subsidiary of the Spanish group Cobra. The plant is powered by a nearby wind farm. It is one of the few wind-powered water treatment plants in Africa. The same process will be used for the Chtouka desalination plant in Morocco.

This what somaliland could do.

If it was that easy then most countries that are better off than Somalia would be doing it. desalinisation of water takes a lot of energy. The energy needed and the equipment used will cost a lot of money. There's also the issue of waste management. desalinising produces chemical wastes which could damage ecosystems if they're released into the ocean.
