Diversity hypocrisy

So I’ve been looking at tech companies presentations of their new big products like IPhone and in these presentations you will see many multiethnic people. Most of these are either racially ambiguous or mixed white and black.

The hypocrisy is that many of these tech companies hire very few blacks, but many Asians. Most of these companies have 2-3% blacks, even though blacks constitute 14% of the population...


I don’t exactly blame them for looking for the best talent available.

But why fool the consumer?

Why these commercials with mixed races holding iPhones and other gadgets?

Funny thing is that blacks in America don’t notice this, they keep on buying the white mans stuff even as he spits on their face.

I think Silicon Valley should continue the merit based hire. Those best suited for the job.

But please stop the hypocrisy.

Merit system is def. where it's at, but actual diversity should be considered as well imo [although it shouldn't be a legal requirement].

The push for diversity has its benefits.

If everyone wasn't being ultra politically correct then that would leave room for the default state of racist cadaans to be more prejudice against blacks.

Now with all this fake politically correct stances that everyone is pushing; you'd end up being stigmatized even if you're joking about.

Otherwise blacks wouldn't get hired or make proper use of the opportunities out there.

You have to ask yourself if the benefits outweigh the costs of the potential "division" the right is screaming about.

I haven't met that many African Americans interested in working in the stem fields. Most engineering majors I met were non blacks. At my school most of the a majority of the pre meds are whites(community college) haven't seen that many blacks who were pre med or atleast considered in becoming a doctor.

A majority of African Americans I know that are in college are doing a variety of majors. Accounting, something relate to athletics and sports, and etc.

I think it's not that companies are trying to lie about it's diversity it's just that they do have blacks but it's just not a lot of blacks compared to the amount of Asians.


I know there are Somalis working in these fields tho
