I never had a problem. My reading skills were pretty good. One school year(second grade when I was 7 years old) I received a severe punishment of not being able to watch tv Monday-thursdays after school and was only allowed to read. By the end of that year I had a reading level compared to a 11 year old. Ever since than my reading skills just increased.
I was always able to read better than a majority of my classmates growing up. In high school I would volunteer to read only because a lot of people were just really crappy at reading. They would have difficulties reading sentences and it would take them forever.
Were y'all terrible readers?
I was highkey evil tho as a kid. When teachers assigned popcorn reading(where whoever reads a paragraph gets to choose anyone in class to read the next paragraph) I would target the people I knew didn't know how to read. Them niggas needed practice fam.Mfs be trying to sound out easy ass words like you 13 years old fam and you struggling to read.
I found reading books fun as well. Read all of the Percy Jackson series and parts of the heroes of Olympus. All of the hunger games books, and a few non fiction crime/military books.
