Did the offensive against shabab failed

I read somewhere in twitter shabab still controls 75% of galgaduud , 60% of hiiran , 20 % of sh/dhexe, and 5% of mudug , this is after one yr long campaign where lots of somali boys were killed ( shabab were also killed but they are still there). I am also hearing there will be no more offensive until next yr july

Shabab is now attacking & capturing territories near Beledweyne Hiiraan where the war against them was first launched. This shows how confident they have become in their endeavors seeing how the frontlines in Middle Shabelle and Galgadud are collapsing at an alarming rate!

BS. 70% Hiiraan is free. Comparing to Farmaajo days this Govt has liberated huge lands. I think until next summer most of these regions will be free. Seems they are correcting their strategy and are moved to west of Shabelle.

Jijeele are free, rural Gaaljecel and rural Baadicade are not free.

Hopefully phase 2 in KGS and Jubbaland will bring victory. I personally think the strategy was the issue. The strategy should have been imo to open multiple fronts against shabaab in the 4 states that shabaab have a presence.

Shabaab would then have to regroup and defend their most valuable territory which is jubbaland and KGS. After having them all grouped in those 2 states focus on those 2 states and Shabaab will be gone.

Listen you can’t liberate a clan that doesn’t doesn’t want to be liberated. Status quo is good anyway. Should just focus on getting rid of seems arms embargo this November and replacing ATMIS by end of the year.

For the governments yes but not the clans such as XL who liberated there own land and still rule it without AS. AS will probably go on the offense in August/September 2024.
