My heart goes out to all the youth put into places like that. Parents who let other people raise and discipline their kids need parenting classes and to understand that children are their sole responsibility. Allah will question them for neglecting their parental duties by letting other people to do their jobs. Some parents only look at short term benefits instead of long-term harms when it comes to discipline.

I've never researched this and just sort of skimmed but aren't the corrections officers of female prisons in the west principally women? A bit insane that even gaalo have the sense not to let men preside over women in a prison environment if so, to say nothing of how absurd it is to basically send someone to a pseudo prison for "dhaqan celis".
That is why, when I first heard these stories, I didn’t believe it or should I say, couldn’t believe it. But too many have very similar stories and the overall theme is that there are male guards and teachers. It’s disgusting and surprising that Somali parents wouldn’t have the sense to understand that sending their vulnerable girls to place with strange men can and in many cases will result in SA.
Somali culture is conservative but at the same time, freemixing is a bit of a problem. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want us to be like the Arabs, but we do have a culture of allowing male macaalins who haven’t been properly vouched for since we don’t have the tech of DBS (background checks) teaching girls and being around them. What’s worse is that this is also happening in an institution in which girls actually stay in.

There are male correction officers and there are cases of SA in female prisons although it probably isn’t rampant considering that everyone needs to have a DBS, camera’s everywhere, correctional counselors and if caught there are real consequences and that’s your career down the drain and prison time. But guess what, despite all of that it still happens and you hear stories of crazy bribes, SA, smuggling stuff for inmates due to sex ect. Hence, you find that male prison guards are a lot less now.
Imagine a third world country, with no DBS, probably no cameras, no counselors, no consequence and the list goes on. I actually shudder to think.

Not at all. Sadly, some parents take the shortcut of paying a couple hundred dollars for complete strangers to watch their children around the clock in lawless Somalia
I’ve heard countless stories about men SA girls in american somali dugsi’s. I can only imagine what’s being done in that lawless country.
