I know this topic is kinda sensitive for men to talk about mainly because it isnt very manly for us to express our feelings and so on.
But have some of you ever experienced depression and if so, how did you deal with it?
Im in a dark place right now and i would appreicate some advice.

Allah SWT be with you my brother. Depression is normal it happens to us all. I remember being depressed a lot when I was jaahil and didn't really fulfill my Islamic duties. The shield around you disappears and not doing your cibaada leaves your heart vulnerable. I'm guessing maybe your inaan is at all time low and this is causing it or maybe something else. If it's the former try listening to Quran or Ruqya. If it's the latter maybe someone passing etc or whatever I wish you the best.

Stay strong

Been there, done that
We've cultivated a deprimental culture of sucking it up and being a 'man' since when did negligence ever solve anything? So many of our brothers and sisters went through dark path when all they could've done was talk to someone, letting it all out is a cure not a sign of weakness

I pray that it will all be easier for you so stay strong my friend, seek therapy and look into Stoicism, pm me if you ever need someone to talk to

Long time no see tijoux:salute:. Wallahi the best advise I got for you is to just pray and reach out to someone anyone. That's what i did and alhumdillah my life is looking a lot better now.

DEACTIVATED!
Pray, sleep enough, eat a balanced diet and be grateful for everything you have. Also if you have experienced it for a long time, and can't get better. Consult a professional.

Sheekhaagu waa kuma?
I use to be depressed but it wasn't clinical or even very extreme. I had these negative thoughts that kept intruding into my mind and that always made me feel terrible about my self; like I would be better off dead. I also had no interest in things and I just got so sad for no reason. I don't feel that way anymore today, I have learned to control these thoughts by recognizing them for what they are illogical negative thought.

When I have these illogical thoughts, I push back by logically convincing myself that they are just stupid false thoughts. I also use to go for long walks and jogs, I found that to clam my nerves very well. Furthermore, I started going to the gym and talking to more people, never spilled my guts to anyone, never even mentioned my depression to anyone, but being around people really helped me. That is all I did to more or else cure my depression, I just gave my overactive brain more things to do so it never has the time to worry about these dumb thoughts.

Also, eat healthy bro, buy a good juicer and drink this greens

You need a routine. I don’t know your schedule but aside from work you need to pursue your interests otherwise you will not be happy.

If it is a specific event that has made you depressed prayers is a good start and can be seen as a form of meditation.

Tijoux dont stress yourself even if you didnt meet your targets in life dont look at those above you.Like the ones who have achieved /accomplished more than you.Be it having a family, better paying job etc.At times you need to look at those below you their are people very sick and are bed ridden, some people have marital issues, some have no parents alive, some have very low income paying jobs and are supporting a family that is the size of a football team.

So dont look at the materials in life and compare yourself with them.Because you dont know what people who have "accomplished" more than you are going through.Money doesnt buy happiness.

You need to count the blessings Allah has given you and be thankful so that he can increase and bless it.I have seen people that are very rich and depressed and poor people that are contented in life.

Success is a relative word.Success according to Islam doesnt mean being famous, wealthy, good looking, having come from a good family, having a beatiful wife or having degrees, masters or a Phds etc.

Success in this world is finding Allah,Knowing Allah,Knowing his rights on you and appreciating his blessings upon you and trying to strive to appease him.At the end of the day life.is temporary.

Lastly give out charity alot for very charity will change your life. Also change your friends,Visit your family often if you have parents serve them well and be kind.always visit them and put a smile on their face. They dont need money at times all they need is yo see you.

Also learn your religion, make dikr do alot of istighfar.
There was a time Hassan AlBasri was with his students and a man came he said he didnt have kids and the Sheikh told him to do istighfar, another came alittle later asked him that his crops keep failing because of no rains he told him to do istighfar.

Then when he left the students asked Hassan ehy each time he was giving the same answer even though they jad different problems.

He said its not my word but the words of the quraan " Tell them to seek for forgiveness from their Lord, for veryly he is oft forgiving,He he will send rain upon them and he would bless him with sons and daughters, and would bless them with gardens( that have produce) and rivers......"

Lastly may Allah ease our situations, bless our provisions and guide us to the right path.

Ameen.
