Madoobe has remained consistent. JL operates de facto independent from the fgs but on paper we are the same country with the same institutions.
Had he had the same outlook as PL he would have never rebranded Ras Kamboni into Darawiish/SNA/Danab. JL is willing to have the same setup with its current air/port officials and the like.
How can Jubbaland operate 'independent' from the FGS, when Jubbaland has signed over everything to the Federal Government? At this point, what is Jubbaland managing?
This is a formal agreement techinically JLs SNA was lead by Farmajo as commander in chief and Odowaa. Was that the reality of Somali politics these last 5 years?
The real issue, is that Jubbaland's leadership thinks it normal to hand over its sovereignty and wealth to the Federal Government. In a normal country, this would not be as alarming, but this is Somalia and the Federal Government is a Neo-HAG entity. Jubbaland ilaahay ha uu naxariisto, if this is what its elite thinks is acceptable.
The federal government was a Marexaan entity a year ago. The reality is confederalism isnt happening and PLs unwillingness to deal in federalism is the equivalent of a kid leaving his ball and watching from the sideline because he doesnt want to lose.
Why would PL push federalism and create a FGS if its going to resign itself from it due to fear??
Puntland will find a way to get acceptable terms and conditions or we can sit tight and enjoy our sovereignty regardless, we will not sign over our assets to a bunch of crooks in Mogadishu.
