So let's look at this Homer guy, in the video it says that he never mentioned Persia, a very close region to Greece and Troy, with trade routes and wars, concluding that he didn't knew its existence, (which to be honest is dumb), but somehow this homer know what is south of Libya ( West africa and sahel region) regions that are thousands KMs away from Greece comapred to Persia.

The comments is more funnier than the video.
The ones back home do see each other as related like the diasporans you've seen. I live in the Gulf and have been back home many times. There's some one-sided animosity from Somalis toward Ethiopians but even those Somalis will randomly say things like "Waa isla dhalanay" when talking about even Xabashis. Anyone with eyes can see there's a connection and Ethiopians are generally very nice toward Somalis and will even treat you better than they treat other ajanabis, as though they almost see you as a countryman. Mind you, I'm not talking about groups like the Oromos and Canfars we border or the Xabashi government. They beef with us plenty but even then there's this acknowledgement that we're "related" in some way.

I believe the media and politics tricks the demographics into thinking they hate each other.
However, neighbouring country‘s can be compatible with each other better than politicians sometimes.
