Internet? Crazy folks. The internet is the best thing that happened to humanity in this modern era. A few clicks & taps and you access almost all of Mankind's knowledge. You can connect with relatives from another continent in seconds
I am shocked. These Faraax must think our Ayeyos get the dahabshiil money delivered to them through a cargo ship.

Internet, easily. If society didn’t have internet, we wouldn’t be as advanced but we’ll also be in blissful ignorance. You’ll still be knowledgeable, you can still communicate etc.

Without money or food, you can’t survive.

Without true love, you’ll live a meaningless life. Without a partner, you’ll be lonely and if you have a partner, you’ll be depressed at the fact that you’re not unconditionally loved.

Humans did just fine for thousands of years without internet. Internet is more a modern luxury than something essential. If I want to read about some famous historical figure and I want to know what year they were born... now I can google and then Wikipedia will give me what year they were born and some biographical info. Without the internet, I would just have to seek out a book rather than google the info.

So it's really just a moderm luxury as I see it. It isn't essential.

Besides, the internet has had many negative effects on society.

Dahabshiil existed before the internet bruh.

Money wiring doesn’t need internet.

:snoop:
Okay I did not know that, not that I was claiming that to not have been the case in the past.

Many of the everyday tasks that are carried out through the "internet" exsisted in a primitive or derivative form.

Yeah, life just gets a bit harder without internet, but it doesn’t ruin your life. The other three, in some way, will make your life meaningless.

Part of me wants to say money but there are virtues of money.

Firstly, Obtaining and seeking wealth is halal. As capitalistic as it sounds, money does drive people to work and make society function and productive, making the world go around.

Food and love are human needs i can’t imagine living life without those desires.

The internet with all its use and communication has a lot of evil. Just look at the brain rot that has plagues zoomers and the attention span that has completely fried the millennial generations

When I looked at the OP, I noticed he took care to describe all but one item but with a single word, Food, Internet, Money.
The only item that uses more than one word is "True Love".

"True love" is it is meant these days excludes most Greek cannons of love such as philia, agape, storge etc etc. So its safe to assume those would exist.

As for Eros or Erotic love, "True love" only covers a very narrow part of it, the kind that has been popularised by harlequin romance novels, then Hollywood and Bollywood.

For westerners, up until very recently, "true love" was not even common. What was common was to practice self denial of the flesh and to love as "Christ loved the church":
>Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her
— Ephesians 5:25

And his final commandant at the last supper:
>And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.
— John 13:34

As for Islam, Allaah (swt) ordaining four wives throws all talk of "True love" out of the window. God at the time of creating a mans soul, did not create a "twin flame" soul (another shirk term) , destined to be his sole wife.

This is why I originally responded as I did:
>I will insist on deleting le "soul mate" True love™
With mentioning "soul mate" and even the trademark sign.

Arranged marriages were around long before and were much more common than "True Love" and I dont see why they would be gone in the absence of "True love"

We would not be losing anything.

True love needs to go. As long as you have respect, you can be without it. There’s people that can love you but not respect you.

Your not living a quality life without the other 3. Your gonna need the money for your family, the food to sustain yourself and the internet to be connected to the world (that connection we have on tap is one of the most important things we have in this world).

:drakelaugh:I know guys who would claim to love women even if they wore paper bags, were broke, undereducated, and let themselves go.

If the gendered tables were turned, many women would say:

This discrepancy is understandable. Women are often primarily responsible for caring for offspring, as highlighted by the saying "mommy's baby and daddy's maybe." This underscores the uncertainty of paternal investment. Additionally, there's no guarantee about the kind of father a man will be or his level of involvement in parenting. His commitment through aging, illness, or fulfilling paternal responsibilities may not be as reliable as one might hope.

Given this, it's clear why women might adopt a pragmatic approach to relationships. Idealizing love without acknowledging potential pitfalls can be risky. Women might encounter various forms of deception, such as misleading appearances, broken promises, hidden motives, or inconsistencies between stated values and actual behaviour.

A realistic approach helps safeguard against disappointment and betrayal. Women often must balance romantic ideals with practical concerns, such as family fit, financial stability, and personal security, making "true love" less straightforwardly beneficial.

As a woman, if you don’t want his characteristics in your child or if his family background and future goals don’t align with yours, consider these red flags. Evaluate his potential as a committed husband and father by observing his values, consistency, reliability, communication skills, and responsibility. Discuss family life and parenting, assess his relationship with his family, and seek input from trusted advisors (your close friends and family).

Very aptly put and its a good example for examining potential husbands/fathers from a women's POV.
One can only hope it falls on the eyes of the sisters on here, lol.
But for one reasons or another, I do think a lot of sisters are rediscovering some of these traditions and using it to guide them.

Thank you. I removed the spoiler. Selecting a spouse is one of the most critical choices one can make. It can have detrimental impacts on one's future health, wealth, and overall sense of well-being. One should take a cautious and tempered approach. Also, I tend to take a family-first mentality, so naturally, anyone they disapprove of, I do. I trust their judgment and my intuition. This relates to personal preference and I realize not everyone agrees.

I will go for the internet.

Internet isn't bad really but social media destroyed it.

Social media was part of the internet but now it's the opposite.
