Darod Re-actionary Defensive Posture Is A Failure

All Darod clans post 91 have assumed a defensive posture only with Hawiye and Isaaq. This is undeniable, as you cannot show anywhere in Somalia were darod led an offensive attack on other clan territory. The reason for this is a number of reasons listed below.

1. When the nation went into clan warfare due to HG legacy in 91 who introduced this legacy when every-one was busy with Siyad Barre regime, they realized their was no political goal anymore to conflict. It just became land grabs, looting, squatting agenda.

2. Not to add more fire to a nation burning over literally nothing. Plus our nation in a vacuum and void has effected the Darod psyche becuz they see foreigners love this situation, they also felt dawladnimo was more important to them, then what happened post 91.

3. They believe defensive war is more strategical because soldiers fight harder when defending their land, then they would attacking someone else land.

4. They realized hawiye and isaaq are notorious for fighting buildings, urban warfare, un-armed civilians. This makes them realize they are scared of direct conflict in the open with Darod soldiers.

Those are the main reason why Darod refuses to do clan war-fare with an offensive posture in Hawiye or Isaaq people land. But I must tell them and hope all Darods pass this on. Defence has 'two postures' and you chose reactionary not preventive. A preventive military posture means you go to the irir land and create a security buffer zone on the grounds your not there 4 land-grab but to keep your regions safe from irir clans.

This keeps our soldier morale high that we are not here for land-grab or dulmi but protecting our region security. This military posture is adopted by America also world-wide, they don't also use reactionary defense because it's not effective. The enemy will just keep coming back constantly in reactionary defense posture. Where-as in preventive defense posture he is now gambling his territory which will lead him to know his at RISK now, this leads to longer lasting peace deal discussion.

So as I tell darods, u may win the battle, but the war isn't over with irir clans who just keep coming back constantly, doing the same thing. This is due to the reactionary defensive posture or aragtida dhulkayga keliya ayaan ku eekanaya. War dhulkooda ayaa banankisa loo farista adigo ka hor-tagayo dagaal dhulkaga yimada. Offensive war is a lot more complex then defensive. Defensive you sit back. you know land, the local population willl give you more and more support as battle wages, and easier to supply.

offensive war everything is opposite. You don’t know land, the local population will hate you, and it’s hard to supply when you extend reach of your military. Finally you need constant progress and new land taken or you will be seen as failure wasting resources and men for no reason

Lets as darod be wise even if we don't shift to prevention defence posture against hawiye and isaaq, lets at least be smart and wait for the enemy to centralize hubkisa like goojacade, so at least any breach we do, their is big rewards for any lives lost.
