Dannood, a lakeside city beside the largest lake in Somaliweyn. It is in the heartland of Ciid, the richest pastureland in Somaliweyn, a land where the camels grow fat and provide plentiful milk, and the inhabitants are endowed with a reddish complexion just as red as the earth they walk upon. An ancient town by Somali standards, it has been coveted by many invaders over the ages for its excellent grazing, plentiful water, pleasant breeze and cool temperatures, and healthy environment free of mosquitoes and ticks. Despite attempted invasions from Iiddoor, Daraawiish, Dhulbahante, and others, the native inhabitants of Dannood have held firm over the ages, protecting their blessed lakeside city.

Today, the town has peace by the blessing of Allah and is rapidly expanding. It has 24 hr electricity, a water supply, a master plan, a health centre, a school, and a telecommunication mast. Once the Hawd highway that will connect Jigjiga to Wardheer via the Hawd gets built, Dannood will be an important transit point for commerce and leisure along the journey and a pleasant rest stop for future tourists. At the centre of a land rich in grazing and dotted by countless lakes as far as the eye can see, peace is the cherry on top of the cake for Heer Dannood.

I give you the crown jewel of Somaliweyn, Dannood

Not far from Dannood is another pleasant lakeside town, Xodayo. These two lakes and many others in the region are known as Harasan (The pleasant lakes) with Dannood being the biggest and most important. Xodayo likewise was a place of many many battles throughout the ages and you will see from this video just why it was so coveted. The natives of this land settle on 4 lake chains with each lake chain comprising of many lakes each. They are Harasan with Dannood as the capital and main lake, Haro-xagarrey with Siraw as the capital and main lake, Haro-Faafanyar with Qoriile as the capital and main lake, and Haro-garduur with Moholin as the main lake. Truly a blessed land and a blessed people

I love the red sand in Wardheer it’s actually deeper than you think the sand in Wajir is similar to the one in Dagaxbuur you will find white sand in Qoraxey Dhanaan and Dagaxbuur but red sand when you go near Doolo.

When it comes to strategic location you can't overlook Puntland while remaining professional. You got Galkacyo and Garowe that is located in the dead centre of somaliwayn and accessible from south, east, west, north. Easy access to the Gulf. Longest coastline in Somalia. Located on the Entry/Exit channel of the gulf of Aden and red sea. Access to two oceans.

Now you see why I'm proud of Puntland and this is the Somali audience response on PL selling points.

@Abaq sorry to crash the party but those lakes are seasonal and dependent on the wet seasons and their not permanent.
Ditoore, stick to the Hutus and leave my propaganda alone. I know they are mostly seasonal but the biggest of them have water for most of the year except during exceptional droughts

CABDULWALI XASAN.

Cabdul's Status CLOSED until further notice.
Has anyone done Backpacking in that region? Place has potential to become an Iron mining side hustle... Steel Industry can also develop with an ample source of fuel
