In case of an external invasion , you have time to protect your capital from attacks. If your capital is located at coastline , it may get surrendered easily.

No country has their capital on the coast, humans learned this valueble lesson during the 15th century pirate era,The capital should not be mogadishu

All these countries above have a coastal capital.

It’s just that the majority of the world doesn’t.

It’s not bad, but in Somalia’s case coastal capital is not a good idea. Especially in this new federal Somalia.

My pick would be Galkacyo that is currently divided by 2 states for the FGS to take over both sides and make it a capital.

If you don’t want a coastal capital that eliminates:
- Mogadishu
- Bosaaso
- Berbera

I’d assume you don’t want a capital near a neighboring country too, that eliminates:
- Gaalkacyo
- Boorama
- Kismaayo

You can eliminate a lot of big Somali cities when you apply these type of rules. Anyway, I think Xamar ought to remain the capital of Somalia.

Our capital being on the ocean is good for now since our main enemy is usually Ethiopia. The further from Ethiopian controlled the better.

Yes the majority of the world doesn’t have a coastal capital but most of the world aren’t a coastal country.

Xamar is perfect imo as a capital city as it’ll in the long term become a major tourist hub for us. Coastal cities are by far the most beautiful

geography has messed up somalia. if somaliweyn was a thing then the capital would be in the interior like beledweyn mustahil shilabo qalaafe etc.
