There are Isaaq in Puntland. I worked with some in Garowe.

Was my assessment that many waiters in restaurants garowe restaruants are isaaq exaggerated or even wrong?

There's people from all over Somalia nowadays in Puntland and also a lot of Ethiopians. Place is becoming semi-multicultural.

I've heard xabxab before. The only northern thing I've never heard is eeyahe and Milix.also fish. My family says malay I think northerners say lacoon or something like that not sure.

Qaare = Watermelon in southern accent, Xabxab in reer waqooyi. Cambe aka mango is completely different fruit though nothing to do with watermelon Lol.

I don't like canjero. Do you guys say malawax for regular pancakes? There's a thread here on different accents and lingo apperanrly the north have a lot of Arabic loan words.

@waraabe do we have a similar name for malawax? At home we call them crepes which is a french word, but my family is from djibouti so idk.
