Here’s a pic of a Nicaraguan boy also who started receiving a better diet you can see the black roots starting to grow in his hair changing from blonde sooooo yuppp this a thing

Makes sense. Back when I used to follow the Vegan movement intently to study it I remember the loony tunes phenomenon of "eye detoxing":

Their eye colours would become lighter ostensibly due to deep micronutrient deficiencies.

Idk how this is possible because I thought pure subsaharan africans couldn't have hair colours that weren't black naturally. Maybe they might be mixed or maybe their hair has been dyed with henna but i'm not too sure because melanesians can have blonde hair naturally from a different gene that causes blonde hair in europeans even though they're dark skinned. Even east asians don't have these hair colours naturally.

Growing up, my hair was slightly less reddish than the first boy’s. It got darker with age tho. Now it’s dark brown with no trace of red at all.

My lil nephew is the same. The nurse at his new school was concerned and thought it was due to malnutrition so she called my sister. My sister told her not to worry and that it runs in the family.

Personally, I’ve yet to see a Somali kid outside my family with naturally reddish hair. Light brown? A couple of times. But never red. So it’s pretty rare.

Now, yellowish brown or blond hair? That’s 100% a sign of malnutrition. No way around it.

I think this is a very common hair colour for somalis, reddish/brown. A lot in my family have it.

All I've ever seen was that a kid I grew up with used to have a slight brown-ish hue of his short hair when he was young. All that time I thought it was like that because he was dirty or something. :dead:

Mostly this, I have blackish brown hair but it's more visible in the summer, especially when it gets frizzy.
