Historically Somali traders sold Banadiri print to everyone they possibly could, now all these Nilotic, Bantu, Oromo and Commorians wear it. Ugandans also claim it as theirs.
Somalis bought the Macawiis from Asians, that much is obvious. The only 'macawiis' that is originally Somali is the White Cotton one. Also, that Omani hat is from Omanis and I believe was made by those cadcad communities in Barawe and then was later adopted by Somali elders.
There is no problem with adopting clothes, but they must give credit to where it originated.
