Marrying out makes you a self-hater because you aren't staying with your own people. A proud Somali will never marry an ajnabi trashcan. Can you be pro-Somali and then sleep at night with an ajnabi ar your bedside? A self-hating Somali hates being Somali and if they had the chance they would wish to be something else.

Wake up warya, the most successful ethnic groups in the world don't marry out and stick with their own people to make their ethnic group stronger. Why are madoows the worst group? It's because they allow everyone to marry their people and in return their group gets weaker and weaker.

As a Somali, we don't allow marrying out. If you marry out, then you are not a Somali anymore.

I think that Somalis that run towards ajnabis and completely disassociate from their own community are worth calling out, but you guys seem to be attacking the entire concept of marrying out.

Sure. No-one's saying Somalis are inferior in any way.
But you've gotta be reasonable about this. I've noticed Somalis (and this extends to people in general) tend to be completely incapable of choosing a middle ground in terms of a stance.
They're either one of the two extremes. Either marrying out is the only way to go, or anyone who even looks at a non-Somali is no longer Somali.
No inbetween.
What I'm saying is that Somalis that marry out and insult their own race or group, and do it as a result of insecurity or self-hatred, are truly self-haters. But the word is being thrown about to describe anyone. I don't get it.

I have to agree with duct tape. You can marry a non somali without putting down somali. You dont have to be a self hater. Sometimes it could just be a compatibility thing. Sometimes you try looking for a somali and get rejected then end up with ajanabi. There is too many possibilities.

I recon people who marry ajanabi should have their role in somali affairs and society deminished but not outright banned or shunned unless they self haters.
