the depressing part of this is that the only way to know the scope of tax avoidance is to know most of the loopholes and calculate exactly how much is being avoided as a result. meaning these countries know the problem but aren't fixing it.

They execute you in China for evading taxes so I'm sure there are many who will not try to find loopholes to avoid paying more taxes out of fear.

Ridiculous. We all have a duty to pay our taxes.
It shouldn't be more than 33% though for all indirect and direct taxation.

Last time I checked, the United States has the highest corporate tax rate @ 35% in the devopled countries. I can't blame them lol.

I think Americans have actually become so indoctrinated they're not really capable of fighting for their own interests anymore
True but the sheer population difference should even this out. Especially given the bevy of millionaires littered in China. Those people aren't super rich so they need all the help they can get.

The elite want tax evasion to continue to exist, that's why it's not a hot topic political issue. If all the top economies banded together they could easily end tax avoidance by sanctioning tax havens. However, they don't since the very same elites who run these countries don't want it to end.

I get what u mean. I had a family member survive cancer, actually so the thinking isn't lost on me. And btw, there is help out there for ppl who can't pay their hospital bills. Although, something like Leukemia would rack up A LOT of money. Some cancer treatment pills range > $20 per pill.But fam if you get leukemia you might actually survive and not come out with a couple hundred thousand dollars to pay off.
