I walked through the slums of Djibouti when I was younger, people there were living in poverty but they still had families, jobs and we used to go out to the local bridge every evening to play football. I'm not saying we should keep pumping out kids. Just because I disagree with a point doesn't mean I want to go the opposite way.
We should maintain a good birthrate and also build up the country.

Also, population growth contributing to worsening starvation is only an issue because of the broken political system in African nations. In reality, Africa does have enough food to feed everyone, but due to political/economic instability, this unrealized potential for food is not going to be delivered to everyone.
