The males can take the fathers qabiil and acknowledge the mothers and the females can take the mothers qabiils and acknowledge the fathers. This way its fair for both males and females and its also a 2 way system. Both parties names also do not get lost in history and its a good way to preserve both lines.

Islamically you take your fathers name and clan. It’s literally an ayah in the Quran. Don’t let feminism destroy your deen. That said, women need to be treated better.
