why do cadaans and indhayars build cleaner societies? I am not necessarily talking about richer and wealthier societies, but cleaner, less trash everywhere??
I know both education and money play a huge role in this but sure you don't need education or money to tell you not to liter and have garbage everywhere like bunch of subhumans. So what gives? In most African "cities" including our own in Somalia, it's normal to liter and throw trash and garbage on the ground. Even poor east asian , and eastern european countries are cleaner than India and Africa.
In India, it's even worse because on top of being just as trashy as africa if not worse, they also have public shitting problems to go along with that.

Arabs countries are slightly less dirtier than these two, and gulf arabs got saved by oil and they can afford to hire South Asian migrant workers to clean up after them but they are just as lazy and would never clean up after themselves if they didn't have money.

So what gives?

Culture. Also, there is a heavy emphasis on self-responsibility and maintaining a good self-image.

This is necessarily true places like Rwanda have weekly cleaning days where people clean the streets of litter. Ask yourself this, are there safe methods of waste disposal in developing nations? African leaders are too busy with short term gratification to consider building key infrastructure like wast disposal plants.

Then again this phenomenon isn't African exclusive, go to any low income area in Europe or east Asian and see how rubbish is everywhere.

I think the main difference is that Europeans and Asians have gained a level of comfort where they can afford to care about such things as litter. When you live day to day you rarely think about where the chocolate wrapper will end up when you toss it away.

This is at least my idea on the matter. There are perhaps more explored reasons behind why, but as far as I can see mass poverty and lack of infrastructure are key players.

They dont even go on holiday or take a break because they fear that others will have to work extra and thats huge taboo in Asian culture.

Basically, they prioritize the group over the individual. Its why they never take care of their own health first and why they put everyone else's needs first. Meanwhile, the West prioritises the individual over the group [, which is why people there are so much more selfish and self-centred and dont respect anyone else.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It's cultural thing.
I read that in Japan, they barely have any public trash cans/bins because people rarely make any mess in public. Can you imagine your population being so self aware to the point where everyone either makes no mess or hangs on to their mess until they get home?
It's insane!
Some cultures are superior and some cultures are inferior.

East Asian societies have a long history of centralised control, obeying elders and authority are some of the main tenets of confusious ideology. These countries have had exams for government and high level positions for centuries, which is why education is taken so seriously over there

India has no concept of belief in the state and social responsibility, its geographical location and density isn't also the best let's be honest but there are some states with a more effective government that are more clean. The dirtiest states in India are the ones with the most crime and corruption
