I undestand completely what you mean. We an definitely adopt some aspects from them that isn't religious but more like their characteristics. Such as them being a tightly knitted community, preservation of identity through faith, I believe that there is indeed a a correlation between a Somalis religiousity and the strength of his Somali identity. The more religious he is, the stronger his somali identity, helping the community by hiring Muslims/Somalis if you have a business if they qualified, helping your community out. Etc. This isnt something new really, all this is something that is in our faith but how many so you think even know the slightest about Islam? As I said there is a correlation between religiousity and ethnic identity and its not particularly language I am talking about, its more about identifying as Somali, being in touch with your relatives backhome, wanting to make hijrah to your country of origin and trying to learn the language. Hijrah cost money so a person has no choice but to be financially well-off. I know Somalis, I know the youth. I know some very good educated people and youth.

Because fixing Somalia is a pain in the ass, rebuilding Somaliland is easier since it has no terrorism or foreign enemies. Its a fresh new start basically.

Well said, couldn’t agree more. The thing about the Jews is, they don’t really partake in clan politics. The Jewish identity is what they hold above everything but God. Somalis need to do the same. Fighting over clan issues is extremely primitive, yet here our people are. Putting our tribe (the Somali) above everything but God will see about a new change, our nation and people as a whole will prosper.
To what extent are you saying that Somalis should go in imitating them? This is a slippery slope. Do you have knowledge about the successful Muslims before us who could also be emulated?
