It's gotten more severe recently. I'll use an example from gaming consoles.

My Nintendo Switch joycons broke on their own within the first year of me purchasing the system. This issue is known online as joycon drift. It made my console usable unless I bought a new pair of Joycons ($100 CAD). Similar things have happened to my PS5 controller's too which are also around $100 to replace.

It's planned obsolescence so you can buy more products. Controller prices never used to be this high in Canada, or broke this often. My GameCube controllers from fucking 20 years ago work perfectly to this day. This is the evil of captalism wallahi. What greed does to people.

It's ironic considering Apple fanboys flex how long apple support their phone with OS updates, not knowing that those OS updates have code in them that deliberately worsens their old phone. My LG G7 from 2018 works perfectly, while my iPhone 14 has already started slowing down.

I was always an android user but I bought my first iPhone because i fell for the meme. Androids are better in every other aspect.
