My advice to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is to not attend any political events for any person or group involved with Somalia. She needs to focus on issues relevant to her constituency in Minneapolis, which can include the U.S-specific issues of Somali diaspora members. The Congresswoman is lowering her brand by involving herself in the dysfunctional politics of a third world African state, and could open herself to later accusations that she is focused on dry and uninteresting Puntland instead of Minneapolis.
She also needs to divorce the illiterate, good-for-nothing, hang-on-my-Darood wife's coattails--excuse for a husband. Ilhan has every potential of one day becoming a Senator, governor, or member of the cabinet and really needs to find a partner who can support her in that. The current husband is a moron and a political timebomb, he regularly shows up to support habar gidir warlords and mafia groups, and I don't see why the congresswoman should let this moron tarnish her brand.
