Confusing Somali Time

Medulla

Bah Qabiil Fluid
Someone explain to me the difference between time keeping in the north and south . Why do reer konfuur people add like +5 hours to the time ? How does this make any sense and how do people back home know which time is correct. Somone please give a brief history and where each one is used please

It's something to do with the clock in the South starting and ending at 6 hence labo&toban saac. 6am is dawn and 6pm is dust for 99% of the year. They also don't use a 24hr system.

I noticed this too, I believe the time that's completely opposite of the true time is read. For example: 12 would be 6, 10 would be 4, 9 would be 3, etc...

Coming from both Reer koonfuur and Reer galbeed background
I remember there were confusion when one would say say hal saac aroornimo ayaan shaqo u kalahayaa
I am going to work at one o'clock in the morning

Todobbada subaxnimo ayaan shaqo u kalahayaa
I'm going to work at 7 am
This quite the norm in Somalia
I use the reer galbeed since it makes more sense
When I'm with my fellow Reer koonfurs then I use the opposite and I also like to confuse some of my jeegaan colleagues you should see the looks in their faces
