Confused FBA’s volunteering to fight for Ethiopia against Italy.

No I am not afraid of them it’s just basic math, in Diridhaba and Harar they make up the vast majority of the educated workers, they make up the majority of the educators, they make up the majority of a few important yet specialized fields which cannot be easily broken into in 1-2 generations. In short if independence was made tomorrow making them run in panic the day after that would cause great harm to the economy- both present and future.
It’s refreshing to hear you don’t want that smoke, your folks often brag about facing 100 million strong Ethiopian hordes. Glad you are a realist.

In the early years of this century, the kingdom of Ethiopia captured the attention of many African Americans who saw in that small country's attempts to maintain its independence in the face of colonial encroachment a reflection of their own efforts to achieve freedom and equality in American society. Indeed, Ethiopia's history as an important African civilization had long made it the anchor upon which both continental and diaspora Africans based much of the Pan-African tradition. - Joseph E. Harris in his book African-American reactions to War in Ethiopia, 1936-1941.
